Room 3o7 Artist Showcase Recap: A First Step Toward Building a Bigger Platform

Room 3o7 Artist Showcase Recap: A First Step Toward Building a Bigger Platform

On April 3, 2026, Room 3o7 hosted its first official artist showcase at Public Bar Live on the Main Floor in Washington, D.C.

The event marked an important first step for Room 3o7 and 3o7 Promotions & Management as they continue building a platform for independent artists, creatives, supporters, sponsors, and collaborators.

What started as an idea connected to Room 3o7D at Elizabeth City State University has now grown into a live experience. Room 3o7D was where DJ_3o7 spent time perfecting his craft as a DJ, learning music, practicing transitions, and developing the foundation for what would eventually become part of the 3o7 brand.

The first Room 3o7 Artist Showcase represented that same spirit: practice, growth, creativity, and opportunity.

Proof of Concept

The showcase brought out around 50 attendees for its first event.

For Room 3o7, that number meant more than attendance. It showed proof of concept. It proved that people are willing to come out and support independent artists when the event is intentional, organized, and built with purpose.

The night also showed that artists are looking for more than just a stage. They are looking for platforms that can help them perform, build content, connect with new audiences, and be part of something that has room to grow.

This first showcase confirmed that Room 3o7 can become more than a one-night event. It can become a system for artist development, creative collaboration, brand partnerships, and community-based entertainment.

The Purpose of the Showcase

The purpose of the Room 3o7 Artist Showcase was to create a space where independent artists could be seen, heard, documented, and supported.

As a brand, 3o7 Promotions & Management has worked across DJ services, event production, hosting, artist support, and creative direction. This showcase gave the company a chance to bring those pieces together under one experience.

The goal was simple: give artists a real opportunity, give guests a reason to support, and give future sponsors and collaborators a look at what Room 3o7 is building.

Independent artists often need more than talent. They need rooms. They need stages. They need content. They need organized events. They need people who are willing to invest time, energy, and resources into creating opportunities before the wider audience catches on.

That is the space Room 3o7 is working to fill.

The Lineup

The first Room 3o7 Artist Showcase featured a strong lineup of independent artists, each bringing their own sound, energy, and presence to the stage.

The lineup included:

Each artist helped shape the night in their own way. Some brought high energy. Some brought melody. Some brought stage presence. Some brought their supporters. Together, they helped create the foundation for what Room 3o7 showcases can become in the future.

Artist bios will be added as artists submit their official information through the Room 3o7 Artist Bio + Opportunity Form.

The Thought Process Behind the Run of Show

The run of show was designed with intention.

The lineup included three women and six men, so the order was created with balance in mind. Instead of placing artists randomly, Room 3o7 wanted the show to have a clear beginning, middle, and ending.

Sky opened the showcase.

Starr was placed in the middle of the night.

Emani Deleyia closed the show.

This structure helped create a stronger flow for the audience and gave the night more shape. It allowed the women on the lineup to help guide the energy of the event from start to finish while keeping the performances moving.

For Room 3o7, the run of show is not just a schedule. It is part of the storytelling. It affects the energy of the room, the way the audience experiences the night, and how each artist’s moment connects to the full event.

This is one of the systems Room 3o7 plans to continue improving as future showcases grow.

A Moment You Had to Be There For

One of the standout moments of the night came when Badmouth, a female artist from Baltimore, came on stage and freestyled over the beat for DJ_3o7’s song “Dfrnt Person.”

The moment stood out because DJ_3o7 produced the record, and hearing another artist rap over the beat live created a unique connection between production, performance, and the room.

It was one of those moments that could not be fully explained through a recap. It was something people had to experience in person.

DJ_3o7 also performed throughout the night, helping guide the energy of the event while keeping the showcase connected to the larger Room 3o7 vision.

The Team Behind the Night

The first Room 3o7 Artist Showcase was made possible with the help of a strong support team.

Special thanks goes to Asada, Daisa, Kendal, and Nina Simone for helping with A/V support, running the door, stage management, directing, ticketing, and overall event flow.

Christian and Brandon Dsean helped record video throughout the night, capturing moments that will be used for artist content, event recaps, future promotion, and documentation of the Room 3o7 platform as it grows.

Their support helped make the first showcase run smoothly and gave Room 3o7 a stronger foundation to build from.

What Went Well

For a first showcase, a lot went right.

People came out. Artists performed. The room had energy. The concept made sense in real life, not just on paper.

That alone made the night a success.

The showcase proved that people are willing to support independent artists when the experience feels intentional. It also proved that artists want more spaces where they can perform, network, receive content, and build relationships with new supporters.

Most importantly, the event gave Room 3o7 confidence that this platform can continue to grow with the right systems, sponsors, collaborators, and creative partners.

What Can Improve

The biggest issue from the first showcase was that bottles did not come out on time.

For a first event, that was one of the only major issues, but it still created an important lesson. Guest experience matters at every level.

The performances matter.

The sound matters.

The visuals matter.

The door matters.

The service matters.

The timing matters.

The hospitality matters.

Moving forward, Room 3o7 plans to build stronger systems around VIP sections, bottle service, sponsor deliverables, artist check-in, stage management, content capture, guest communication, and post-event follow-up.

That is how the showcase grows from an event into an operation.

Why People Should Support Room 3o7

People should support Room 3o7 because the platform is bigger than one event.

Room 3o7 is building a system for independent artists to be seen, heard, documented, and connected to new audiences.

Supporting Room 3o7 means supporting independent artists. It means supporting creative opportunity. It means helping artists receive content, performance experience, and access to rooms that can help move their careers forward.

It also gives sponsors and collaborators a chance to connect with culture early.

Room 3o7 is for the artists still building.

It is for the supporters who want to say they were there early.

It is for the brands that want to connect with real creative communities.

It is for the people who believe that something small can grow into something major with the right structure, consistency, and support.

Opportunities for Sponsors and Collaborators

Room 3o7 is actively looking for sponsors, partners, and collaborators who want to help build the next version of the showcase experience.

Future opportunities may include:

  • Artist sponsorships

  • Sponsored recap videos

  • Sponsored “Artist of the Night” awards

  • Studio time giveaways

  • VIP experience sponsors

  • Food and beverage partnerships

  • Clothing brand collaborations

  • Vendor opportunities

  • Media partnerships

  • Photography and videography partnerships

  • Interview and content series

  • Community partnerships

  • Brand activations

  • Ticket giveaways

  • Street team and promotional support

The goal is to add more value to the ticket, more value to the artists, and more value to everyone who enters the room.

What Comes Next

The first Room 3o7 Artist Showcase was proof of concept.

The next step is building the system.

Future showcases will focus on improving the guest experience, strengthening artist support, creating better content opportunities, and building stronger partnerships with sponsors, venues, creatives, and community organizations.

Room 3o7 started as a place where DJ_3o7 worked on his craft.

Now, it is becoming a platform for other artists to share theirs.
